PostSubject: how do i use one bsnl broad band home connection for two   Tue 8 Apr - 15:42

ok i am going to take a connection form bsnl's broad band connection.its a home package in which only one comp can be used.the problem is that there r two computers in my house one upstairs and one in my dad's room.both the comps need net.my dad uses it in the evenings 4 an hour or so to check his mail.i use it the rest of the day.some one plz tell me how to share the connectionis it a LAN wire? or have they given u some cable modem with a USB connection.

if it is a LAN wire connected to ur ethernet card.. then use a router to route 2 wires, one to ur comp and the other one to the other comp...and configure it with the IP and stuff.

if it is a USB conn.(the cable modem kinda thing) , then connect ur comp with the other one using a lan wire..and share the conn.
Hope this works.
Put a cross cable to the lan card of both of your computers{if the broadband is connected to a lancard then add one more lan card}.
Now install any proxy software and share your internet connection.

Waiting for the feedback
