PostSubject: The Truth About Making Money With Google   Fri 21 Mar - 22:18

Google is the top ranking search engine today. It has all the power to drive traffic and sales to any website. However, with all the changes in the Google algorithm, appearing on the search results can be a difficult task. No visibility in Google is synonymous to no sales. With all the complexities and difficulties of getting ranked high on the search results, how can you still make money with Google?

For those who are familiar with pay per click advertising, the key to get money from Google is obvious. Google offers AdWords for advertisers. Google AdWords is a PPC program that guarantees search engine visibility without the pain of climbing the stairs of organic listing. Google AdWords displays listing at the visible portion of the search results.

The Cost Of Google AdWords

Google AdWords displays ads immediately after the set up. But there is a fee attached to this program. For every click generated by the ads, the advertiser pays a specific amount. The amount is controlled by the advertiser. So there is no “reckless spending” since everything will be under control.

Google AdWords may be the ultimate option; however, if not set up properly, there is no way you can get any value from it. As the saying goes, “no pain no gain”. Advertisers need to put some effort in setting up the campaign and managing it. Tracking and analysis should also be part of the AdWords process.

Google AdWords For Affiliates
Affiliate websites look at Google AdWords as the solution for traffic and sales. Let’s all admit it, getting ranked high on organic listing is a long process. This is something that affiliate websites are not willing to wait for. As early as possible, they should get traffic to start earning commission.

What affiliate websites do is advertise their websites through the use of Google AdWords. Google AdWords give their websites targeted traffic. On the other hand, they refer the traffic they receive to their “advertisers or merchants”. If these referrals purchase or sign up with whatever the advertisers offer, the affiliate website gets a commission.

So the cycle is that the affiliate website pays Google for the ads and in return they are paid by the advertiser for their referrals. But what if the affiliate website pays for clicks from Google AdWords but its referrals don’t purchase or sign up? The affiliate website will most likely be spending for nothing.

This is the reason why, as a Google advertiser, you need to put some effort in your account setup and management. The ads should be well optimized to ensure that you only get the most targeted traffic. When you receive targeted traffic, there is higher chance that this traffic will be converted to customers. Thereby, giving you money (for affiliates) and sales (for websites and merchants).
